Lonely in London?
February 18, 2010 –
People said that to me, you will be lonely in London if you dont know anyone. Well, you can be lonely anywhere if you dont know anyone, cant you? I guess its more pronounced here, there is so much to do that if you really had no-one to do it with, that would be very sad. They also said that Londoners are really unfriendly. That is not my experience. From the local butcher, to a lady at the local Doctor’s to the fella at the Fish and Chip shop (yes I succumbed! Oh the smells! - thats my fix for 6 months :)
They have been smashing, the folks here, I like them. I am building up quite a social life too, have to make sure I dont burn the candle at both ends though. Did I tell you about one of my new goals?, the ones to do before you die? The ones that I wrote down 100 of but already did 75 of them? Yes those. Well, I added some more; this one in particular is very exciting. Actually a friend and I made a pact. ‘Lets try and eat in every Michelin Starred restaurant in the UK’. We said. Yes I will happily add that to my list and Ive already started ticking them off, one by one. Went to one this week (thank you very much Mister!) and I have a few planned next month too. You dont have to take me there though, I wasnt hinting! hehehe. No I am happy to be asked to wherever you like (I draw the line at a Maccy D though darlink!) Its exciting going to new places and thats what its all about isnt it? Enjoying yourself and finding new excitements. Join me?
PS. And what has the sign got to do with anything? Nothing at all, you know me and my funny signs. It made me smile (one day I will have one made – suggestions on a virtual postcard please). Hope it makes you smile, have a great weekend. x
