Pt 6 – The Patron

Oh did I mention that I had a Patron to help me through university?  Yes, a rather wonderful chap who used to take me out to lunch every week.  We saw each other for five years. This is the fella you can blame for my obsession with fine food, Michelin stars, champagne and such things. Lovely guy.

Arrangements are very nice.  Mister set up a standing order and popped some money into my account every month and as I say, we used to have a lunch date every week.  I really, really looked forward to it.  Sometimes we would go away for the weekend too.  He took me to Rick Stein’s place in Padstow, years and years ago; and to Gidleigh Park too.   We stayed in the hotel both times, it was fab.

It made a big difference too, financially.  It meant that I didnt have to struggle so much,  with my mortgage and things.  I hear that quite a few students these days turn to escorting to pay their way through college.  Good luck to them.

I think that when I retire in a few years time….
