Whoops!
July 9, 2010 –I forgot and I couldnt pop off across the channel without telling you this…
I am now sending you the menu of what we will be dining on (for those of you who have booked my lunch or dinner dates here) Does that sound like I have aspirations to be a chef? Oh no, no, no! I just want everything to be perfect for you. I love (no, really) love to look after you. Is that OTT? Humour me darling :) Do you know, I think I was brought up to be like this, my whole family are perfect hosts and hostesses. Anyway, here’s a flavour, pardon the pun; a couple of dinners recently. Of course it takes more time and effort than just getting ready for a dinner date out (I love those too!), but you’re worth it, arent you? Oh and the wines and champagne; I want to get to a point where we try a different wine with each course, pairings that are perfect, Im about to go on a course. And now I really must be off, I have fancy pants to throw in a bag :)
Smoked salmon with ponzu and japanese wands
Free range roast duckling with orange stuffing, asparagus & summer vegetables and baby potatoes
Chocolate torte fit for a millionaire with jersey (oh so naughty) extra thick cream
Chablis Premier Cru Vaillons William Fevre 2007
**************************************************
Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label Brut NV
Watercress, pear and goats cheese salad with honey and mustard dressing
Fruits de Mer – dressed Cornish lobster (dont you just hate a naked lobster?), Cornish white crab meat, giant prawns with a seasonal salad of broad beans, courgettes, feta and mint. (normally I go a little crazy with the Fruits de Mer, I once took a taxi back and forth to Borough Market (its a fair trek) and got clams, scallops, mussels, langoustines, samphire, oysters and more – of course we couldnt eat it all – and this particular gent, with this menu specified ‘not too much’, so I kept it simple-ish)
Rhia’s special sundae just for you -
Coconut ice cream, lime sorbet, diced mango, cracked pepper, caribbean liquor, crispy toasted coconut flakes and a kiss x
