Bank Holidays & Posh Nosh

Thursday, August 27th, 2009

devon escort +dinner dateWhat has happened?  No sooner have I arranged to have a very cultural weekend away when I then get inundated with pleas for my company!  Usually bank holidays are dull, dull, dull (and not just the weather, lack of company of the male variety being the norm:(    Hmm  do I note an upturn in this downturn?  I hope so.  But so very sorry to disappoint all you eager fellas who will now be at a loose end over the next few days, maybe next time?

Talking of next time, I keep getting sent deliciously tempting offers (I know what you are thinking :)   No, my little saucy one, of the gourmet variety, that’s what I mean – although I do get many tempting offers all the time and I concur with the magnificent Oscar Wilde when he said,  ‘I can resist anything but temptation’.

So, there are a couple of rather splendid eateries around these parts, dont you know!  They are also being ever so inventive and (for me) exciting in their attempts to tempt you and I (easily done in my case) into  their gorgeous seats and to quaff at their delightful tables.  All sorts of events like a supper club and seafood demo at one of my favourite restaurants, I mean its my favourite worldwide, not just in Devon – and I have eaten in a fair few places I can tell ya!  Or do you fancy a fashion show (no probably not :) dinner or a ball? Oh let’s have a ball!    Click here to know more.

And there’s more – Gidleigh Park in Chagford, (oh Gideligh, Gidleigh – I love thee!)  also has some fantastic special events like guest Michelin star chefs, a fungi foray – hurray!  (say it out loud, it rhymes!)  hehehe and… oh just pop over there to take a peek.  Here’s the Link.

So, dear one,  if any of that has whet your whistle or indeed your appetite and you fancy a spot of company to any of these events, please do give me a call, I am your girl, definitely.  If that is not your thing, and before we abandon the subject of temptation;  can I, may I,  tempt you into my audacious, beautilicious lair? I am now pretty busy right up until Saturday 5th September (I am available over that weekend and most of the weekends in September) so if you fancy a foray with moi, please get in touch – asap is always appreciated x

Back in Plymouth!

Sunday, May 24th, 2009

plymouth-escort-in-londonHello!, Yes I am back in the land of the cream tea and the oggie.  London was fab.  I had a lovely time.  After the drama of the changed hotels, I am happy to report that the final hotel I stayed in was quite, quite wonderful  They upgraded me not one level but two!  So happiness did abound :) When I arrived there were a whole bunch of paparazzi outside the entrance. ’Oh no, dear God, not again I thought’  ‘Will they ever leave me alone?’  Just a cursory glance at me told them all they wanted to know.  ‘Nope, not famous, she’s carrying an M&S sandwich bag for Chrissakes!,  ignore’  :)   Good, that pleases me.  I would hate to be famous.  I value and enjoy my privacy too much.

I did something I vowed I would never do.  Go on the tube.  I havent been ‘down there’ for quite a few years.  I dont like it.  Its claustrophobic, dirty, crowded and smells, and thats just the ticket section.  No, I figured a while ago that I dont get to London that often and so I would forfeit the tube in lieu of the Great British cabbie when I make one of my bi-yearly jaunts.  And besides, if I was meant to go underground I would have been born a mole with great spade like hands, wouldnt I?   So, a grave error found me on the underground yesterday.  It wasnt too bad, but I dont want to do it again very soon.  Please dont make me!

I went to see this; Here’s something you need to check out http://www.visitlondon.com/bodyworlds/ its an exhibition at the O2 and it is incredible.  Sounds a little morbid in that it has exhibits of dissected human bodies that have undergone the process of plastination – but it is done very respectfully, with the ethos of celebrating the miracle of life and the human body;  and the people who have donated their bodies?, I think would be very happy with the resulting, well, its artistry really. It is totally fascinating, take a look. I also managed to get a morning at the British Museum which was also very enlightening.  What a culture vulture I was!

So, I will be here in Plymouth for a little while now, give me a call and we can talk about the smashing weather we are having :)  Have a great bank holiday folks xxx

PS.  Apologies to everyone who tried to get in touch via email.  A super hotel it may have been but the broadband reception was rubbish.

What’s in a Room?

Friday, May 8th, 2009

london-escortI made a mistake.  I went to book my London tour accommodation in a rush and used one of those sites where you pick an area and date etc and get the rate reduced.  I have done this a few times and come away with decent enough 5 star hotels for 50 pence a night (I am jesting!!).  You wont get your Ritz or Raffles but on the whole they are fine.  This time, I ended up with a hotel a bit off the beaten track.  I didnt like the look of it.  Tough, they said on the phone, its been paid for and that the deal.  Fair enough I said.  I ruminated for a few days, sat in the hairdressers, not for a few days although it felt like it  (plenty of time to mull things over in there) and decided hell no.  I will waste (I cringe at that word, I hate waste) the money and re-book another hotel.  A proper one.  A 5 star one, a famous one.  Its nice.  You will like it.  Its one of the leading hotels in the world. See you in London, I hope x

PS   HAPPY BIRTHDAY MR A!

Happy St George’s Day! & London Tour

Thursday, April 23rd, 2009

english-escortI told you I wouldn’t forget this year didn’t I?  Happy St George’s Day one and all!

And did those feet in ancient time

Walk upon England’s mountains green:

And was the holy Lamb of God

On England’s pleasant pastures seen!

And did the countenance divine

Shine forth upon our clouded hills?

And was Jerusalem builded here,

Among these dark satanic mills?

Bring me my Bow of burning gold:

Bring me my Arrows of desire:

Bring me my Spear: O clouds unfold!

Bring me my Chariot of fire!

I will not cease from Mental Fight,

Nor shall my Sword sleep in my hand:

Till we have built Jerusalem,

In England’s green & pleasant Land.

La la la la – do you feel a stirring?  I do!

Oh and before I forget, I am touring  London in May – 21st, 22nd and 23rd.  Getting booked up fast, so please contact me asap if you would like to see me x     More info here

C’est la vie

Saturday, April 18th, 2009

plymouth-escort-returnsHello!, its me, back again. Did you miss me?  Go on, just a teeny bit?   I’d like to say a massive thank you to all the people who sent their best wishes via blog comments, emails and texts.  You are truly wonderful people. x

Now, without wishing to go into the whys and the wherefores,  I am returning to work.  Coming out of retirement has become a bit of a common occurance these days has it not? Look at  Status Quo (they did retire 78 times didnt they?), Take That,  and I read recently that Cher is coming out of retirement.  So I am amongst good company (I think :)  Oh and Tina Turner is making a comeback (definitely in good company there)  What have you been up to then?  Anything exciting?, I can’t wait to hear all your news and all about your adventures.  So give me call, drop me a line and hope to see you soon x

Did you?…

Friday, December 26th, 2008

Have a super duper Christmas?  I sure did.  In fact it was the best Christmas I have had in years.  Lots of laughter, great company, gorgeous food, fizzy stuff and lots of fun and games.  I also had a brilliantly saucy Christmas card from Mr A which I tried to put on this post but the text got cut off :( – thanks anyway A, it made me chuckle :)  So, now its on to the sales and New Year.  Although I have revived my love for Christmas, New Year has always been my favourite night of the year in the past.  This one is going to be extra special, ohh I am a lucky girl this year!  What about you? Are you planning something special for the 31st?

I am also looking forward to 2009, lots of tours…  Bath on January 27/28 is fully booked but I am taking details in case of cancellations. Dubai in February has some dates left but London in March is also fully booked.  There are a few new restaurants opened in Plymouth which I obviously will have to try out next year :)  I always have a list of things that I want to do each year – I usually tick most of them off – try it, its great fun!  What’s on my list for 2009? … well, you will have to wait and see. ;)

Oh I almost forgot, do you want updates of my blog on your mobile phone?  Look at this, its clever.
