Do bats have bollocks?

Monday, November 17th, 2008

Mr A sent me an email today.  He said that he was sure my quirky sense of humour would be tickled by the following two books.  ‘Do Ants have arseholes? and 101 other bloody ridiculous questions’ by Jon Butler and Bruno Vincent and by the same authors, ‘Do bats have bollocks? and 101 more utterly stupid questions’ Hahahaha - Mr A was right!  That did tickle me and giggling like a schoolgirl, I marched straight over to Amazon to check them out :) Do you know what?  I think you fellas know me better than anyone.  My loved ones wouldnt dream of popping that into my Christmas stocking, but what a fab little gift that would be – not hinting hehe.  Talking of books, have you seen my latest gizmo?  Look to the right, down a bit, yes thats it.  (I think you can only see it in explorer) Actually its called a widget, listen to me sounding all technical and erudite.  Ive been having a lot of fun with it and have placed within it lots of lovely books that I think you gents and of course ladies would like.  Obviously diaries of various callgirls, plus some other ones;  erotica, how to pleasure a lady, a handbook for all you budding male escorts ;), food for seduction and even one or two about the nectar of the gods - champagne,  I even managed to squeeze some golf books in there – see how good I am to you?  Take a look, oh and I will be adding to it all the time, whenever I see a book/cd/dvd that I think may tickle your fancy :)

Sixteenth Century Courtesan

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

I am almost finished reading a great book – In the Company of the Courtesan by Sarah Dunant.  It is initially set in sixteenth century Rome but quickly moves to Venice (where I hope to visit next year, and I am open to suggestions of fabulous places to stay!).  It is a truly gripping read seen through the eyes of the Courtesan  Fiammetta’s loyal dwarf servant, Bucino.  I urge you to read it if you can/want to but it is one of those books that you don’t want to put down and I do confess, I am rather hard to please in the literature department.

The other Courtesan medium that I want to get my sticky paws on is the film ‘Dangerous Beauty’ which is the tale of Veronica Franco, another Venetian Courtesan of the same period.  (have just ordered this!)

My first dip into this sort of literature was ‘79 Park Avenue’ by Harold Robbins when I was a wee lass of 15.  I have never looked back hehehe. Miss Dollymopp has the definitive collection of harlot literature though and I am trying to work my way through them all :)

Here’s a little taster of the film Dangerous Beauty to whet your appetite!   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d2Hrei0AtV8
